You were recently accepted into The College of Saint Rose and now you’re dying to know what our “college life” is all about. You’ve read our blog posts (right?), watched our videos (right?), and listened to our counselors go on and on about how great our college is (right?). But, if you really want to know what all the hype is about, then why not see for yourself?
We offer a program called Knight for A Day, which allows you to test drive the Saint Rose college experience. You’ll get the chance to meet new people, get acquainted with our faculty, and eat in our dining hall. You’ll learn A LOT while getting a feel for our culture. Plus, it’s only for a day. You have a day to spare (right?).
Here are five reasons why you should sign up for the program:
- Make friends with our students
After a day at Saint Rose, you’ll quickly learn why our students are the best. A student from your program of interest will take you to class, give you a campus tour, and hang out with you at a bunch of activities. By the end of the day, you’ll probably even make it official and become Facebook friends.
- Test drive a class or two
Most people arrive at college without taking a single class there. But, you’re not like most people. You want to get an edge on your peers. Let’s say you’re interested in our communications program. Sit in on a class about journalism, film production, or copywriting, and get a feel for what you like. Speak up if you have any questions or sit back and take it all in. It’s up to you to make the experience as interactive as you want.
- Meet with our expert faculty
Our faculty members are exciting and insightful, and really, really care about your future. They will welcome you into their classroom and probably ask you a few questions. Take advantage of this time to ask them a few questions in return. Get to know the professors who could end up teaching you until graduation day!
- Eat in our fabulous dining hall
I mean, what’s the point of visiting a college if you don’t try the food? We’re actually proud of ours (how many colleges can say that?)! Try the salad bar, the pizza station, and top off your meal with some ice cream. This is what dreams are made of, kids.
- Gain the inside scoop
Students who participate in our Knight for a Day program are more likely to get acclimated to Saint Rose. At the end of the day, you’ll get your important questions answered and maybe make a new friend or two. And when you arrive on campus for the start of your first semester here, you’re going to feel that much more at home.
