Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Adventure Time! (Not the cartoon)

So the semester is definitely starting to get serious and it’s time for midterms once again. This past week and coming week are bound to be full of late night study sessions and copious amounts of coffee. As I mentioned in my introduction blog post, I love doing anything outdoorsy and going on an adventure. One thing I find extremely helpful during testing weeks is setting aside one day to just have fun with friends.  This past weekend a group of friends and I went pumpkin picking at Engelke Farm. It was my first time going there and I had so much fun!

First of all, there was a petting zoo. Animals in miniature form are always fun, I’m partial to the baby goats. Animals aside, there were two ways to get down to the pumpkin patch. You could either take the traditional hayride or zip line down. My friends Cynthia and Tinamarie jumped at the zip lining opportunity while my friends Alex, Chris and I took the hayride and met them at the bottom. We did our pumpkin picking thing, hung around and went a little picture crazy. I personally haven’t gone pumpkin picking in years so this day was perfect (not to mention I got to spend it with amazing people).

If you’re ever feeling stressed during testing week or just want to get away from campus for a day, there’s so much to do in the Capital area. Get a group of friends together and go on an adventure!
