Experience the New Classrooms!

Four years ago, during my first visit to The College of Saint Rose, I was impressed because I could see investments that were being made in the school.  Since I have been at Saint Rose, the technology in classrooms has been updated, buildings and rooms have been remodeled, and new buildings have been constructed.  The dedication to enhancing the student experience is clear.  I proudly chose to attend this college without knowing that the School of Business would have its own building during my time here.

Exactly one week ago today, The College of Saint Rose celebrated the opening of its new Huether School of Business!  Despite the chilly fall weather, it was a great day for the dedication ceremony.  There was a good turn out of faculty, staff, students, and members of the Board of Trustees.  As a business student, it was especially exciting to take part in the event.

Already this semester, I have had many reasons to be in the Huether School of Business.  Two of my classes are taught in the building, the internship coordinator’s office is on the second floor, and we hold our Delta Mu Delta meetings at a conference table on the first floor.  Every time I walk into the building, I am always impressed by how nice everything turned out.

Thursday evening, I had the honor of speaking at the Rose of Lima Dinner.  This dinner recognizes the major benefactors of The College of Saint Rose.  It was an incredible experience!  I got to meet many members of the Board of Trustees and a lot of people that have been very generous to the school and its students.  One of the people that I had the honor of meeting on Thursday was Dick Huether.  It was great to meet the man that has so generously helped out the business program with his donation.

I was especially pleased Thursday night that my dad was able to attend the Rose of Lima Dinner.  It was great to share the experience with him.  I’m very close with my family and it means so much to me that they support my education.  When we were walking up to the new School of Business, Dad and I ran into Andy Grosso, VP of Business Development at NYSID, Preferred Source Solutions.  Not only did Andy teach two of my favorite classes here at Saint Rose, but he is the reason I have my internship with NYSID this year!  The timing was perfect; I’m really glad I was able to introduce him to my dad.

Below are pictures of two of the rooms in Huether.  The room on the left is where I have my Production & Quality Management class and I have my Estate Planning class in the room on the right.
