This past Friday,  I was preparing for a trip to the Catskills with some friends and wanted to get some Apple Cider and Donuts for the trip. I decided to take a trip to Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont, NY. I had never been before and had heard so many good things about Indian Ladder Farms, so I decided to trek over and check it out for myself!

The farm is a 25 minute scenic ride through the towns of Voorheesville and Altamont. Located on Route 156, the farm is surrounded by picturesque mountains and a plethora of fall time color coming from the trees. Indian Ladder Farms offers a variety of fresh fruit and vegetables for their customers. In the fall season, the popularity lies in the vast fields for apple picking, as well as the “U-Pick” pumpkin patches! Be sure to contact the farm directly for times and dates in which you can go apple picking as they vary! In their respective seasons, Indian Ladder Farms also has blueberry and raspberry picking.

If you are looking for a quick trip without heading into the fields, the farm has a great gift shop for customers to peruse and purchase novelty items, as well as fresh apples, pastries, pies, and of course, Apple Cinnamon Donuts! The farm makes the donuts on site and are absolutely delicious! Be sure to pick up a dozen. I guarantee you will eat them all!!

Looking for a nice afternoon trip with scenic views, a lot of fun, and delicious treats? Be sure to check out Indian Ladder Farms in Altamont. For more information, be sure to check out their website or give them a phone call for hours of operation- 518-765-2956.
