My name is Michelle Flores and I’m a new blogger for The College of Saint Rose. I’m currently a junior studying Business with a concentration in Marketing and have minor in Communications focusing on public relations. Currently I am employed by the Saint Rose Office of Public Relations and Strategic Communications through the work study program. I have the amazing opportunity to take what I’m learning in class and apply it to work study every week.
Aside from my major and work, I’m also involved in various clubs on campus. As I mentioned in my bio, I’m a Peer Leader and Mentor for the ALANA is Leadership program. I’ve been a part of this program since freshman year, from a mentee to a mentor. As a Mentor, I am paired with incoming freshman to help them academically, personally, and socially through their first year of college. I am also involved with the Late Knight program. Late Knight events typically take place on Friday or Saturday nights as an alternative fun safe way to have a good time with friends. As an event leader, I work with the other members of the Late Knight committee to come up with and plan events.
In my spare time, I enjoy taking adventures with my roommates. Hiking at Thacher State Park is a favorite, as well as anything outdoorsy. I also take photography as well as drawing and painting classes outside of college when I have time.
