Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Here Comes the Sun

You know you live in the north when its 44 degrees out and it feels like you’re in the tropics. There’s FINALLY some grass able to be seen. It’s mostly muddy, partially dead grass but it’s grass. For someone who hates winter and the cold, this is a beautiful sight. However, seeing grass means spring is coming and that means the semester will be coming to an end. Seeing grass means that the semester is half over.  (Well the grass and the fact that my half semester classes ended this week.)

GRASS!

GRASS!

It amazes me that I’ve been here at Saint Rose for seven months. That it feels like I just got here, and I just unpacked my bags, and I just introduced myself to people who are now some of my best friends. That I just sat down in my first class and ate my first dining hall meal. Now there are only two months left of my first year here at Saint Rose.

no coats!

no coats!

I have two months left of dining hall swipes, CDTA bus rides to Crossgates, walks to Price Chopper, and late night Netflix marathons with the crazy people I call friends. And I plan on enjoying every second of it. I plan on taking in the warmer weather, and making the best of everything. Because it’s a beautiful day outside, and I’m not going to let that go to waste.

After the winter we had , the sun seems like something of a dream. But I know I’m not dreaming. I’m smiling, and laughing, because that what sunshine does. Sunshine makes people happy, and I’m so glad to see the sun again.

It’s a beautiful day, don’t let it get away” – U2 lyrics
Until next time,
