My name is Brendan Peo and I am a senior at the college. I am majoring in the Childhood Education/ Special Education dual ceritification program, which has proven to be a rewarding and exhilerating experience. This semester, I have been student teaching at schools throughout the capital region. My first placement was in a fourth grade classroom at Thomas O’Brien Academy of Science and Technology (TOAST) in the Albany City School District and my current placement is in a third grade resource room at Veeder Elementary School in the South Colonie School District. I am thoroughly enjoying my time implementing what I’ve been taught and learned throughout my four years at St. Rose.
On top of Student Teaching, I am also the Student Association Vice President for 2011-2012. Along with my five other board members, we work to listen to the students and to ensure our voices and opinions are heard on campus. This position allows for me to work with students and administrators alike. Other campus activities that I attend and work with include Relay for Life, the Student Alumni Association, and Reach Out Saint Rose.
I am excited to begin blogging with my fellow classmates and administrators. I hope to provide a witty, yet informative spin on things, here at the college. The next few months are going to be crazy, so I am looking forward to sharing my “crazy” and “not so crazy” experiences with all of you!
