Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Its Open House Time!

It’s that time of year again where High School seniors are trying to figure out what to do next year. During the fall semester, The Office of Undergraduate Admissions hosts Open Houses so that prospective students and their families can learn a little bit about the college.

What exactly do you do at an open house? Well, after you check in and get a course catalog and financial aid guide, you have the chance to go on a general campus tour. These are lead by student tour guides who are living the college experience and can answer many of the questions that you may have about Saint Rose or college life in general. While on tour, you get to see a bit of each academic building on campus, a freshman dorm, and the Events and Athletics Center. After tours, there is a bit of time to chat with Admission Counselors, current students, and sometimes faculty about what Saint Rose has to offer. There is then a presentation about Saint Rose to give you a nutshell look of what we’re all about. Financial aid counselors are there, too, and tell you all about those important deadlines and how the aid process works. Finally, the large group is broken up into smaller groups by academic interest so that students and their families can get specific information for their intended major.

Now trending: #strosevisit

This weekend marked the start of our new twitter hash tag: #strosevisits. You can tweet and tag us (@collegeofstrose) to show how #superexcited you are to visit us or to ask questions. The tweets were displayed on the screen while families waited for the presentation to happen and we even answered a bunch of the questions that were asked. Want your questions answered? Go tweet at us right now!

Last but not least, don’t forget that there are still plenty of open houses left this semester, so if you want to come visit us, sign up here!
