Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Let’s Get it Started

I may or may not have sat in front of my laptop for a good forty-five minutes trying to come up with a witty introduction post title.  “Luke, I am your father” wouldn’t work, because your name probably isn’t Luke and I am not your father. I was considering, “Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die” however, my name is not Inigo Montoya, and my father is alive and well. That being said, let’s get this party started, and by party I mean blog post.

Where to begin…I’m going to assume you don’t want my entire life story, so I’ll give you the abridged version. I hail from the land of Poughkeepsie, NY, the home of the longest elevated pedestrian bridge in the world (booyah!). I spent the first seven years of my life in a village outside of Buffalo, NY, and my family is from Syracuse and the surrounding areas.  Basically, I am New York.

Here in the wonderful state capital of New York, I am studying communications with a concentration in public relations, and a minor in sociology. I’m technically a freshman, even though I came to Saint Rose with 29 college credits in my pocket (that’s an entirely different story, we’ll get to that later). I spend my days dreading the hike up to the fifth floor of Lima Hall, although I could take the elevator but then I just feel lazy. But hey, at least the view is nice.

Ever since I learned to write, people have been telling me I’m good at it, and I never really believed them. However, when you hear something often enough, you become convinced. So here I am, actually publishing things that I have written on the world wide web for all to see. Wish me luck.

I’m going to do this thing where I close every post with a quote, so let’s do this.

Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time.” – Thomas A. Edison

Peace Out Boy Scout,
Anne Marie
