No secret to us: Saint Rose alumni are doing great things

The College of Saint RoseWhether it be through tweets, emails, Google Alerts, or good old-fashioned word-of-mouth, I often hear about what Saint Rose alumni are up to. And they’re doing all sorts of things! From a counselor doing therapy with the aid of horses to a young marketer being named among 30 Under 30 to a graphic design alum going on to work on Orphan Black, there’s no shortage of Saint Rose alumni all over the world doing super interesting work.

This week in particular we had a small flurry of alumni activity and while we try our best to share these updates on LinkedIn, it seemed this news coming in within days of each other was worthy of a post. Of course we don’t hear every update, so if you have news to share please do in the comments section below! If you’re an alum make sure to update your information so we can keep track of the great things you all are doing!

Brooks to succeed retiring Principal Blowers starting July 1

Through Twitter (thanks, Jacob!) we heard the news of Mark Brooks ’02 G’07 G’09 (two degrees and a certificate– wow!) being named Principal of Broadalbin-Perth High School.

Passing the baton at Habitat

We also learned that Christine Hmiel Schudde ’06 has been passed “the baton” at Capital District Habitat for Humanity. And by “baton” we mean Christine has been named the next Executive Director! Christine was an active Habitat volunteer as a Saint Rose student. We are very excited for you, Christine!

Benedictine selects Michael Brophy to lead University into the future

From Illinois we received the news that Michael Brophy ’84 G’90 has been selected at the 11th president of Benedictine University, moving on from his post as president of Marymount California University.

Congratulations to the alums above as well as to all Saint Rose alumni we know are working hard every day!
