Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Parlez-vous français?

One of the most exciting times of year for college students is approaching – SPRING BREAK! This year, the Saint Rose Chamber Choir will be traveling abroad to spread musical cheer and the good name of the college! Can you guess where?

That’s right – France! After flying into Geneva, Switzerland, we will be taking a bus to Le Puy, France, where we will sing for the Sisters of Saint Joseph and perform concerts in the local cathedrals. Because the Sisters of Saint Joseph have such a close connection with the college, will will also be performing at a nursing home where older Sisters live. After a few days, we will then take a bus to Lyon, France, where we will perform another concert and enjoy the sights. After 8 days, we will drive back to Geneva, fly to Washington D.C., and then head back to Albany.

We are very fortunate at The College of Saint Rose to have these spring break opportunities; this is my second trip going abroad with the Chamber Choir, and I can definitely say that this going to be one of the most memorable experiences of not just my college career, but of my life. There are many other opportunities to travel for spring break as well, and one of the most popular and well known are doing community service in New Orleans, Palm Beach County, and San Francisco.

Stay tuned for the various blog posts I will be writing as I make my way over to the land of baguettes, art, and culture – France!

Les Adieux!!!
