Your Name and Location: Aideen Hanlon – Brubacher 3 Center East

Year and Major: Sophomore – Communication Sciences and Disorders with a Spanish minor

Home town: Pomfret, CT

Reason for becoming an RA: I wanted to get more involved in the Saint Rose community so that I could create a fun but safe environment for the residents on campus.
Favorite thing about the job: It’s very rewarding being able to help freshmen students find their way here at Saint Rose and I love being a part of this time of great change in their lives. My other favorite thing about being an RA is definitely the friendships that I have formed with other RAs because they’ve become such a great support system for me.

Most Memorable RA moment: There isn’t one exact moment that sticks out to me, but every evening after making the trek back to Brubacher, I am welcomed “home” by my residents asking me about my day. I absolutely love the upbeat environment in my hallway and it makes it worth any work I may have to do.

What people should know about RAs: I think that there’s a stigma that Resident Assistants aren’t very fun but that’s not true at all! We all strive to find a balance between enjoying ourselves and getting all of our work done just like any other student!

Favorite Albany Hangout: I love going to Tierra’s and enjoying a nice cup of coffee but Washington Park is also a great getaway when the weather is nice.

Favorite Late Night Snack: It’s not really a snack, but I always have to have a cup of tea before going to bed at night.

Goal after Saint Rose: Career-wise, I hope to become a Bilingual Speech Language Pathologist one day and open my own practice. I also plan to continue traveling the world and crossing things off my bucket list!

Random “Fun” Fact: I have been to Ireland 14 times.
