Setting Sail with Semester at Sea

Studying abroad is an awesome experience that cannot be duplicated. I had a great time when I went to London after my freshman year, and I have been looking for another place to go ever since. There are so many places to choose, but I decided on the Semester at Sea program.

This May, I am going on a “Maymester” voyage to Central and South America. We will be going to Costa Rica, Peru, Equador, Belize, and Panama, which includes going through the Panama canal! It lasts 27 days and I’ll even get class credit!

The MV Explorer http://www.semesteratsea.org/our-ship/overview/

While on board the MV Explorer, I will take an English class that will transfer back to St Rose as part of my English concentration. We have class while we are sailing and are off while in port so that we can go explore the country.

We have our own Facebook group, just like prospective St. Rose students do. This helped me find a few people to fly with and share a hotel with, as we have to be in Costa Rica the night before we Embark. We are all super excited to go and a lot of people have a count down going (which just might include myself).

Check back in May to follow my trip!!
