As Albany woke up to the season’s first real snow accumulation this morning, area ski destinations were priming their snow guns for the 2012-2013 winter snow sports season. It appears as though the coming winter months will offer a more plentiful snowfall in comparison to last year, when ski areas struggled to maintain a base layer of snow for guests, some closed for short periods mid-season due to lack of precipitation, and many ended the season early. Be sure to get out to an area ski destination and stay active this winter. Even if you’ve never clicked into a pair of skis or strapped your feet into a pair of snowboard bindings, qualified and dedicated instructors are waiting at area mountains to introduce you to the wonderful world of snow sports.
