What today is called Week of Welcome was once called Freshman Week. About sixty years ago students had a rigorous schedule, of teas, get-togethers, campfires and songfests. Today new students enjoy activities like bingo and bowling. There is even a trip to Yankee Stadium. Back in 1954 the College was still a Catholic school and throughout the week students attended morning masses and assemblies in the college chapel. Today Saint Rose offers interfaith services in the Hubbard Sanctuary. The happenings on campus, then and now, help to bring the student body together by creating friendships and shared experiences. Times have changed since 1954, but the excitement of the first week of college has remained the same.
