If you picked up a copy of The Business Review on November 9th, you saw The College of Saint Rose prominently featured on pages 15, 16 and 21. Reporter Pam Allen outlined for readers how small, private colleges are redefining themselves in the Capital Region. A significant portion of her report focused on the heavy investments Saint Rose continues to make in its forensic science, psychology, communications, and criminal justice programs.
What do each of the above areas have in common? They are all experiencing job growth. It’s great to see Saint Rose taking note of this and dedicating resources to these fields of study while also maintaining its reputation as a top institution for education majors.
Ms. Allen reports the college is also growing in other areas:
- Endowment – This has nearly doubled since 2008
- Geographic diversity – 70 percent of students come from outside the Capital Region
- Classroom real estate – The Huether School of Business opened in September
It’s pleasing to see Saint Rose receive recognition in print for the above. Each is a big step forward, and we’re sure to see more of them in the coming years.
