The Student Association Wrap Up!!

Hey Everyone. I hope you are all staying calm and studying hard for your final exams this week. I finished my last week of student teaching last Friday, so this is my final week before graduation!! It’s nice to relax and destress before commencement!  Student Association wrapped up it’s semester last Tuesday at our end of the year celebration. We honored our dedicated reps and everyone received their “Stud Ass” shorts (Short for “Student Association”). For those of you who may not know, it’s tradition to receive a representative gift at the end of each semester. At the end of the spring semester, reps get a pair of “Stud Ass” shorts as a thank you for all of their time and hard work.

This year, SA had been working with students in the Communications Department to create a PR video to attract students to join SA. Our goal is to increase our membership and to let student know that we exist on this campus to represent them. The final product was released last week and can be viewed on the St. Rose TV Youtube Page or below. I would like to thank Annie Delano from the Communications Department for all of her hard work in scheduling the tapings and editing the film.

This was my last year on the SA board and I will miss it very much. The new board was elected at the beginning of April. You can find out more about your new board members here!  I’ve taken a lot away from working in Student Association. I’ve learned that cooperation, teamwork, listening, and communication are all keys to success. I have had some of the best experiences in college because I was an SA member. I would definitely recommend you stop by next year and see what it’s all about! You won’t regret it!

Next Year, there will be a new board and I am looking forward to all of the wonderful things they have in store for the students on this campus. For the Fall 2012 semester, SA Meetings will be held of Tuesday’s at 6:30pm in Standish A&B. Stay tuned to our SA Website for the latest information and of course, check us out on Facebook and Twitter!

Finally, I will be returning in the fall as a graduate student!! I will be studying in the Professional Special Education Program, so I look forward to continuing to blog about my experiences and share some fun stuff with everyone! That’s all for now!!
