Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Wait. You’re Telling Me That I Am A Sophomore?

Last time I was a sophomore I was in highschool, in a different state, living at home, and worrying about the PSATs (nevermind the actually SATs). When I think about it like that it is crazy to think about all the other things that have changed in my life over the past four years and because of that I thought it was time to reflect….

Life then:
Biggest fear: Forgetting my lines as the Stepmother in Roger and Hammerstein’s Cinderella
Biggest stress: Wondering if I would actually get into college (got into 10+ thankfully)
Involvement outside of class: Mock trial, drama club, Spanish club, Interact Club to name a few
Favorite thing to do: Film videos with my best friend Ellen (still best friends)

My friend Bryan and I backstage... this happened a lot 4 years ago.

Life now:
Biggest fear: Not getting into graduate school
Biggest stress: Not knowing where I am going to relocate after I graduate St.Rose (Chicago is a front-runner)
Involvement outside of class: Volunteering at RISSE, being a Resident Assistant, Student Association (and more)
Favorite thing to do: Meet up with my friends and forget about the piles of work I have to do.

The purpose of this blog is to not bombard you with “Courtney Carr Fun Facts” but to illustrate how much can change in a short period of time, think about your own life- where were you four years ago? Furthermore, It does not matter where you see yourself in four years because chances are that will change as your view on life changes. As I type out the thoughts in my head I have found the purpose of this blog- It is to remind myself (and you) that it is impossible to stay static in life without evolving on a personal level.

Whether I like it or not I am now a sophomore in COLLEGE and a completely different person from the Sophomore I was in highschool.

What do you think?
