The beginning of a new academic year is super exciting on campus  for staff, for faculty, and, of course, for students- no matter what you’re class standing is. I remember when I was a first year student and was SO excited to go to college and start a new adventure. As a sophomore and junior even more excited to return to my friends and life on campus, thinking to myself, “I still have plenty of time left.” Then senior year came where I was most looking forward to my classes and thought to myself, “OH MY GOD WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?”

A really cool part about the beginning of the academic year at Saint Rose is “Week of Welcome.” Week of Welcome is designed to aid students in transition to campus, our first year class and transfer students. That being said, there are a ton of activities throughout the week that all students look forward to checking out: a comedian, hypnotist, bowling, bingo, and a ton more! (schedule is on p. 2 of link)

For some fun and to get the Saint Rose spirit going strong, we’re including a bonus to Week of Welcome activities this year. At any WOW event, tweet a picture of the event with the hashtag #stroseWOW and you will be entered into our week of giveaways! WOW runs from Saturday, August 25- Monday, September 3, and we’ve got a giveaway for each day- there are plenty of opportunities to win. Attending more than one WOW event in a day? Tweet a picture with #stroseWOW from each event for additional entries for that day. We will be giving away a sweatshirt, sport bottle, blanket, and other Saint Rose gear.
