Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Week one is almost done!

Happy Friday everybody!  I can’t believe it’s already the end of the week!  The past couple of days have been busy.  On Wednesday, I got to attend the managers meeting.  It was fun to get to observe how meetings go with this level of professionals.  I will get to sit in on their meeting every week this summer, so I’m really looking forward to that!

In my previous blog, I mentioned that the interns were going to have lunch on Wednesday with Vic, the Director of the Office of Legal Affairs (OLA).  Well, we had a nice lunch and Vic spoke very highly of LSC; it’s obvious that he enjoys what he does.  I did find some of the stuff that he talked about to be a little confusing since I’m not a law student, but some things were recognizable because of the business law course I took freshman year at Saint Rose.

Unfortunately, my plans with Megan fell through Wednesday evening because she had to work late.  We’re going to do some sightseeing this weekend though so that will be fun! I’ve already visited quite a few of the high-lights of the city; they’re all incredible!  Here’s a picture of me standing with the Washington Monument in the background.

So I haven’t mentioned yet that my best friend from home is also in DC this summer for an internship.  CJ and I have known each other since we were two years old!  This is the first time since high school that we are both in the same place for the summer.  Last night we met up and walked to the White House.  It’s only 4 blocks from my dorm!  I took the picture below with my phone and didn’t even have to zoom in!

Well that’s it for this week!  Have a great weekend!  Hope you check back on Monday for my next post with some more pics. of DC!
