Back to Graduate School

After a relaxing break, it’s time to hit the books again. Today is the first day of undergraduate and graduate classes for the Spring 2012 semester. Lucky for me, I don’t begin classes until this Thursday, but that doesn’t mean that I’m not prepared. I have my books ready and I have also been checking Blackboard over the past couple of days for updates from my professors.

It’s overwhelming for me to think that by the end of July, I will be done with graduate school. I feel like I just started graduate school! My older friends and family were not kidding when they said that the college years go by quickly. When I think about my time here at Saint Rose, I realize that I have grown so much over the past couple of years. Every experience, both the good and the bad, has helped me become the person I am today. As I start this final spring semester of my college career, I cannot help but feel a little nostalgic.

However, I know my feelings of nostalgia will soon pass as my next four graduate classes begin. If this semester is anything like last semester, I will be very busy with schoolwork, my graduate assistantship, and my part-time job. Although graduate school is challenging, I know my hard work and dedication will be more than worth it in the future. Instead of reminiscing about the past, I am prepared to continue working for my future.

“Around here, however, we don’t look back for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” – Walt Disney
