If there is one thing I love in life its thumping music in an arena of athleticism. With that being said lets talk about Dodgeball Madness 2012 that played out in scenes of glory.Teams played to dodgeball death at 8:00 last night and it was something to be seen. Aside from the heavy hitters and people hitting the floor, a DJ was present to pumped up the audience and bring them to their feet.
Team favorites included Chicken-Bacon-Ranch, Soccer Club, The Honey Badgers, Lax Street Boys… and 2 Girls, and Faculty Team 2 (team 1 was eliminated first round). Faculty Team 2 was a strong competitor led by Residence Life’s Joe Pryba and when they clashed against Soccer Club during the final game- it got real. Pryba’s team put up a good fight but it all ended when his entire team was out and Pryba was left alone to face the full force of the Soccer Club. It was as gallant a game as I ever seen and I even found myself pulling for the all faculty team at some points but alas Pryba could not bring his team to get the W and Soccer Club walked away with new shiny trophies.
Also at Dodgeball Madness, The Girls Next Door, The Alana Steppers did their thing, The Golden Knights Cheerleaders brought the pep, and The Dance Team brought it home.
It was everything the name implies- straight up madness. I honestly can not wait until next year to see my peers, teachers, and staff roll around the gym floor while dodging balls and dancing. This was by far one of the best activities I have gone to so far and as a freshmen I look forward to my next 3 years just to see if Pryba can finally capture the trophy.
