Megan Mayer ’22 is member of the Golden Knights volleyball team and a marketing student from Chittenango, New York. We asked her to reflect on her Saint Rose experiences and her experiences in the Huether School of Business.
What are your career plans/goals?
After college I hope to pursue a career in either the sales or sport management fields. I am also looking forward to traveling and seeing the world.
What drew you to the Huether School of Business and/or Saint Rose?
I chose Saint Rose, because I liked the “home” feeling and the small class sizes.
What kinds of clubs and organizations are you involved with?
I am on the women’s volleyball team, a member of the National Society for Leadership and Success, a member of Delta Mu Delta, and the vice president of marketing for Pi Sigma Epsilon.
What about the field of marketing interests you?
I think marketing is interesting because it is such a vague field, and there are so many different opportunities within marketing. Also, everything is marketed, so I think it is interesting to intrigue people to a specific product or service.
What classes have you found most valuable so far?
I think all of my classes have been valuable in their own ways. Each class and professor has different objectives and experiences that they offer. With that being said, I would say Fundamentals of Business, Principles of Marketing, Sales Management, and Business Law 1 have been particularly valuable.
How has your involvement with the sales fraternity (PSE) enhanced your learning experiences at Saint Rose?
Being a part of PSE has greatly enhanced my learning experience. Being able to take concepts learned in both my sales management and marketing classes and applying to them tasks within PSE has been invaluable. Additionally, it has been rewarding to watch the organization grow tremendously over a short period of time.
