Radically Adventurous: Meet Resident Assistant Alexis Fischer

Your Name and Location: Alexis Fischer- Lima 3

Year and Major: Junior- History and Political Science (BA/MA)

Home town: Glens Falls, NY

Reason for becoming an RA: I wanted to get more involved on campus. My freshman year I went home a lot and didn’t know very many people; I didn’t want that to be my college experience. I also wanted to be a leader and help people transition to college life.

Favorite thing about the job: I love relaxing and spending time with my residents. I love getting together to watch TV shows, have a movie night, or play board games with my residents.

Most Memorable RA moment: I have many memorable moments but last year, my residents decorated my door for my birthday. I felt like a pretty big deal!

What people should know about RAs: We’re not a cult, even though we often sit together in the dining hall. We’re all very nice people that participate in tons of activities outside of Residence Life.

Favorite Albany Hangout: I really love the Quad…I don’t know if that counts.

Favorite Late Night “Dorm Snack”: Swiss Rolls are my guilty pleasure and nemesis….so good but so bad!

Goal after Saint Rose: I really never want to leave Saint Rose, but if I have to I hope to get my Ph. D in History and eventually became a Professor at a college.

Random “Fun” Fact: I was a competitive figure skater for 15 years.
