That’s right! This past Thursday and Friday, students were given the opportunity to drop by the Saint Rose Campus Activity Center (CAC) and share their thoughts on the institution’s latest piece of real estate – a new $17.5 million, 94,000 square foot residence hall, scheduled for completion in August of 2012. If you spend any time passing by the college on Madison Avenue, you’ve had an opportunity to check out the progress that’s been made on this landmark project called Centennial Hall. Here are the highlights:
- Centennial hall is meant to symbolize the one hundred year anniversary of The College of Saint Rose, which will occur in 2020.

- The facility will be home to 224 Saint Rose juniors and seniors.
- Living spaces will be divided into suite-style apartments that can each accommodate groups of two and four.
- Student residents will have access to a cooking space, living room, and dining room.
- Each floor of the hall will offer group study areas, bicycle storage, and laundry facilities.
The above information is nothing new to students who paid a visit to the CAC last week. They learned about all of these features, as well as the green technologies built right into Centennial Hall. These technologies include things like energy efficient geothermal heat pump systems and single stream recycling for glass, paper, plastic and metal. Such environmentally friendly attributes were a big hit with students who took time out to rate the potential furniture options for the facility, and learn more about how they might become residents there (you can do the same by clicking here).
