Hello friends! After a long blogging hiatus I’ve finally returned refreshed and ready to party! …I mean, work hard 🙂 I hope everyone had a great holiday season and got a chance to get in a little R&R. My Christmas break was just what I needed.
After a long fall semester of what seemed like an endless amount of work, stepping onto the train to travel back home for a whole month of no worries was like an out of body heavenly experience. It’s one of the most incredible feelings when you go from having so much on your plate, to having nothing at all and finally having the ability to fully relax.
Alas, I have arrived back in the 518 and am ready to tackle my 6th semester here at Saint Rose. Syllabus week (my favorite week) was easy enough to tackle and although it was a tad bit overwhelming having an entire semester laid out at once, I am implementing some new tactics to help cope with this semester’s stress. One of my 2014 resolutions is to get in shape. Making sure to spend a little time at the Saint Rose Fitness Center every week allows me to take some time for myself and decompress. I can let out all of my frustrations there, and it always just puts me in a good mood. So in reality, it’s sort of a win/win situation. By strengthening my mood, and stepping back from the academic world for a little while, I am always a little bit more stress-free. Don’t be overwhelmed by anything yet! Tackle things one thing at a time and always make sure to take a break and do something for yourself, whether it is at the gym, watching some television, or by reading a good book. Spring semester is going to be a very exciting one and if attending an event is more up your alley for relaxation, we will have no shortage of those ready for you! Check them out here! Happy New Year!
