Taking a strose around campus! What’s coming up on campus in 2012!

Hello everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed their vacation and your first week of classes. I had some free time in between my classes to take a “strose” around campus. Let me tell you something….There are a lot of changes going around the college this year.

There are brand new tables with new lamps in the renovated library.

New computer stations in the basement of the library.

New comfortable couches for students to use in the library.

The Neil Hellman Library was renovated during the winter vacation and reopened last week. The renovated library looks absolutely amazing with its modernized architecture and funky furniture. With the library’s new face lift, it will attract more students to use the library as work space. I might even finally go to the library to get some homework done!

The progress of the construction of The Huether School of Business building.

The progress of the construction of Centennial Hall.

There are two brand new buildings that are closer to completion every day. The Huether School of Business building will will be a brand new building for business majors and will open up in July. Centennial Hall will be a new residence hall for 230 upperclassmen students. It will be apartment style with kitchens and bathrooms. Centennial Hall will be completed and opened in August. It will be the dorm that everyone will be trying to get in next year….including me.

One of the "breathe easy" signs posted on campus.

After, January 1st, 2012, our college became a tobacco free campus. Many of these signs were posted all over campus buildings and dormitories. It informs students, faculty, and staff,  that the use of tobacco products of any kind are prohibited on campus property. With this new policy students can “breathe easy” on campus. So far, I haven’t seen anyone smoking on campus.

As I walk around campus I see big changes happening in the near future. I realize that as I grow, Saint Rose grows with me. I personally enjoy this path of progression that this college has been following. Take your own strose around campus, and find what’s new in you!
