The Girl behind the lens.

Last week, we all read Myles Clendenin’s wonderful post about Kajanna. It was really nice and reminds me even more why I love her. I was fortunate enough to spend a week with KJ in New Orleans last year! She is a fantastic human being. 🙂

I was thinking of doing a similar post about one of my favorite people at Saint Rose for a while now. Myles has inspired me to finally do so. This week I want to talk about Kelly Pfeister.

Kelly Pfeister is a very well known Saint Rose student. Not only is she a Resident Assistant, photographer for the Chronicle, and one of the stars in the popular Saint Rose web series Rules of Runford but, she was also recently published in the New York Times! How incredible is that! For these reasons and many more, she is a very well known name around campus. She always has a smile on her face and she is usually not with out her trusted camera.

Kelly has to be one of the most incredible people I have met during my time at Saint Rose. We were introduced by a friend the beginning of my Sophomore (her Freshmen) year and we’ve been friends ever since.  When I first met her she was “Camera Kelly” but now I can honestly say she is just Kel, one of my best friends at Saint Rose.

Kelly  is such a presence to be around that you can’t help but be in a good mood when you are with her. Her bright and sunny demeanor can always put a smile on your face. She brings so much care and attention everything she does. No matter what it is, Kelly always gives 110% . She is so modest and humble about everything she does around this campus but, she is definitely a big deal around here.

I recently sat in with Kelly during one of her floor programs and I was able to tell that  her residents really look up to her. They enjoy being around her and some of them stayed out to talk to Kelly long after the program was over. Even people that aren’t on Kelly’s floor like to pop in their head and say hello or just talk to her.

So, you may know her as the girl with the camera but, Kelly is so much more then that. She is funny, loving, caring, considerate, thoughtful and a great name to know around the Saint Rose campus. If you are interested in getting as involved with this campus as Kelly, I know she’d be happy to talk to you! When you see her just give her a smile or start a conversation because you’d be making conversation with  a great student on this campus 🙂
