Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

Welcome to the world of Nicole Dama!

Hola Friends!

My name is Nicole Dama. I’m a Public Communications major at The College of Saint Rose from Hyde Park, NY. Many people on campus call me “Dama.” They say it’s more expressive of my personality. “Dama,” means lady in Spanish. I still have no idea what they talking about, but nevertheless, I like it.

I’m a senior, and sadly this will be my last year at Saint Rose.  I can’t believe it’s already been four years. Where did the time go? Throughout my time here I have been ridiculously involved. There’s a lot to offer here and I wanted to take advantage of everything! During my college career I have been a Resident Assistant , flown on my first plane for an Alternative Spring Break  with Habitat for Humanity,  explored the historic streets of Albany,  took out my first kayak at Fall C.L.A.S.S.I.C (awesome leadership retreat in Lake George) ,toured the Saturday Night Live Studio,  hosted the Saint Rose Music Awards and MidKnight Madness, remotely interned for Fox Searchlight Pictures,  and been involved with numerous clubs. So that’s where all my time was, I haven’t had a moment to be bored.

Currently, I am the Chair of Senior Events  for the Student Events Board (I will commonly refer back to this as it’s Saint. Rose Slang: SEB.)  On SEB, I create the 21 and Over events for campus and create Senior Week in the spring.  103 days till Senior Week and 108 days till graduation-that is crazy!

Despite the amount of time I spend on campus, I’m a commuter. I lived on campus for three years so this year I decided to mix up and try an apartment with friends. We live one minute from campus, so really I didn’t go that far.

I enjoy taking pictures, reading, traveling, social justice,  watching movies, thrift shopping ( I always find some interesting stuff),  water sports, and fonts. Yeah, I know that last one is weird. But one day, I want my own font. I’ll figure it out.

Until then, welcome to the world of Nicole Dama.
