What’s THAT supposed to mean??

Each country, region, and town has its own “lingo” that only the locals understand. Saint Rose is no exception. Here are some of the most commonly heard acronyms on campus:

Bru- Brubacher Hall– one of our two freshman dorms

CDTA- Capital District Transit Authority– our bus system in Albany, which Saint Rose students use for FREE!

CCIM- William Randolph Herarst Center for Communications and Interactive Media– the new communications building that houses the chronicle office, green room, tv studio, radio studio, recording studios, Jack’s place, and many classrooms designed to accommodate learning about the field of communication

EAC- Events and Athletics Center– a main building on campus that houses the gym, fitness center, pool, dining hall, camelot room, and offices of student life, parent relations, etc.

Harvest Fest and Rose Rock- concerts sponsored by the Student Association. Harvest fest is in the fall and Rose Rock is at the end of the spring semester.

OL- Orientation Leader- current students that guide students through their freshman orientation

Orientee- the term we use for the incoming student at orientation

SA- Student Association– our student government on campus that oversees most of the clubs on campus. They also run many blood drives, harvestfest, and Rose Rock.
