A college calendar is filled with regular dates for doing things. Registration, convocation, president’s day, advisement day, winter break, exams, commencement all make college life a relatively tidy affair. Even social events roll out on a regular timeline, soccer season, Rose Rock. You get it.

Which is just one of the reasons a presidential inauguration, which can be scheduled at any time, is a unique event. It can range from full-out season of events to not much at all, depending how the new president envisions his or her priorities and frankly, how well things are going on campus.

To find out why colleges celebrate most important things in black robes and pointed hats and how our new President David Szczerbacki plans to mark his inauguration Oct. 13, click here for the College’s inauguration web site.
