Spooktacular Places in The Capital Region

This past weekend, I got to go on a haunted hayride at a resort near my home in Northeastern Pennsylvania. I brought a few friends down for the weekend and I told them we had to do it. We sat on a hayride that brought us into the middle of the woods and scared the heck out of us!! Loud music accompanied by crazy scenarios, scenes, and people scared us through the haunted trail through the woods. At the end, we walked through a haunted house that featured zombies popping out of the walls and scaring us. Luckily, the end of the terror reaped the benefit of a bon fire and warm hot cocoa.

We had an awesome time. But, this got me thinking, “I wonder if there are any spooky hayrides or haunted houses in the Capital Region?” So, I decided to do my own research and I wanted to share some places with you that could be of interest and fun during this “spooktacular” season! Here are a few I thought looked like fun:

1. Double M Haunted Hayrides- Double M Ranch- Ballston Spa, NY- http://doublemhauntedhayrides.com/

2. The Barn of Terror- Lake Katrine, NY- http://www.thebarnofterror.com/

3. Fright Fest at Six Flags Great Escape-Lake George, NY- http://frightfest.sixflags.com/greatescape/

Of course, there are probably many more. If you know of any cool haunted houses, spooky places, or haunted hay rides, don’t hesitate to comment on the post and share them with us! Whatever you choose to do this Halloween. make sure you have fun AND be safe!!
