Bringing It Home – The Saint Rose Blog

A New Year! A New Blogger! This is Myles!

Greetings St. Rose! My name is Myles Clendenin. I am currently a junior majoring in Childhood Education/Special Education with a concentration in English. I am from Pine Bush, NY (It’s ok… A lot of people don’t know where that is). It’s a bit scary to know that in about two years, I’m going to be teaching in a classroom. I still feel like I still need to be the student learning from the teacher. Knowing that the role is about the switch, can be a bit scary.

I remember sitting in a classroom during my senior year of high school. My teacher asked me how my future was looking and I remember yelling, “I’m going to culinary school, and I am going to be the best Chef in the world with the best restaurant in town!”. It’s funny how your future can change. Then I remember volunteering in a Special Ed. classroom in my high school. I enjoyed teaching students various topics. I enjoyed making new friends. I remember a student in that class saying, “Thanks for being a friend.” At that moment, I knew that THIS is what I wanted to do with my life. I always believe that all students can learn. Hey…maybe I’ll have that restaurant one day.

It’s a new year, and I decided become a St. Rose blogger. My St. Rose experience has been the greatest time of life.  From being a part of Best Buddies, to creating a charity group, PB & Jams; I like to keep myself busy! I wanted to become a blogger because I wanted to show St. Rose through my eyes. My life is full of hilarious situations. Why not enjoy a laugh with me? There are so many things I will be writing about various topics and giving tips for you all like: The best and worst meals in the dining hall, Tips on having a great semester, “DID YOU HEAR…?“, and much more. You are just going to have to wait and see. I know that we are going to have a lot of fun and I hope you all enjoy what I write!
