Prior to returning to Saint Rose in 2010 as a graduate student, he was assistant news director at WAMC Northeast Public Radio. Steve enjoys reading as much non-fiction as possible - specifically, works that focus on the practice of journalism, the workings of the media, economic trends and cycles, public relations, leadership development, war reporting, military history, civil-military relations and military sociology.
