Hola,
I will be working in Mexico City for the next 6 weeks at Reichmann International. The company’s primary focus revolves around constructing and leasing major office buildings all over the world. Some of the most notable Reichmann projects include the Canary Wharf in England and the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan.
Just ten years ago, the company expanded into Mexico City, and built Torre Mayor, the largest building in Latin America. Torre Mayor is where I will be spending most of my time learning about the industry and gaining insight into the company’s newest project, just around the corner, Torre Diana.
I have been in the country for less than one week now, and I have been enjoying every bit of it. I cannot get over the rich culture and artistic scenery that I get to walk and bike through everyday on my way to work. I am fortunate enough to be living in one of the most scenic areas of Distrito Federal, as my residence is surrounded by plenty of parks, most notably, El Bosque de Chapultepec.
The program I am pursuing will allow me to gain exposure to six different business units within Reichmann, which include the following: contabilidad, mercadeo, construcción, contratación administrativa, financiamiento, y operaciones. I am starting in the accounting department to learn more about the billing and contracting that each client in the building goes through. Each day, I have the privilege of speaking with many of the firm’s knowledgeable employees and directors.
Hasta la Próxima Vez!
-Oren
