Qualify for work study and interested in social media? A job for you!

Hey everyone! The academic year has started and is already in full swing. It’s awesome having everyone back and seeing campus busy again. I hope everyone enjoyed their summer break!

The beginning of the year means that the work study hiring season is upon us. If you qualify for work study and are interested in having the coolest job on campus (I’m 1000% biased), check out the job description for our online ambassadors-

Online Ambassador

Seeking students to help shape and enhance the online and social media community experiences for the college.  This is an exciting chance to help represent the college in a very different way and work with a great group of students and administrators.

Opportunities and responsibilities will include blogging, online chats through Facebook and other means, posting pictures and videos of your
Saint Rose experiences, and the list could go on based on some group brain storming activities.  An interest in social media is mildly important (do you check Facebook at least once a day?), previous blogging experience a plus and a passion about Saint Rose and life is a must.

Not only will this position help promote and shape the college’s online community experience by providing daily interaction with others, answering questions and providing content the online ambassadors will gain a great resume builder for a variety of career paths. 

Applicants should ideally be self motivated, outgoing and prepared to professionally interact with others on behalf of the college.  If interested interview questions will include a writing sample.  

While most of our bloggers are not online ambassadors, a few are and blogging is just one part of their responsibility. Online ambassadors also contribute to student chats on Twitter and Facebook, help us with stat tracking, make fun YouTube videos, and a variety of other things! We truly are looking for people with an open mind who like to be creative. A fair amount of this position is what you make of it!
