That moment when you realize next Monday will be your last first day of your undergraduate career! I have many mixed emotions about starting my senior year at Saint Rose. I cannot believe how fast time has flown by. It was just yesterday when my parents were helping me move into Brubacher Hall. I was extremely excited to start college. It was a new environment and totally different from my hometown of Brooklyn. While I have been a student at Saint Rose for three years, Monday I will embark on a new journey as a senior. Now it is the time to search for full time jobs and apply for graduate schools….oh yeah and finish the year off strong!
I am thrilled to say that I just received an internship with Townsquare Media for the fall semester. The Capital District may know Townsquare as the owners of the popular radio stations WGNA 107.7, Hot 99.1, and Pop Crush105.7. I will help strengthen the radio stations’ social media presence. My job duties will consist of posting to Facebook, responding to tweets, posting vines, and helping to grow the YouTube subscriber base for each radio station. It will also include writing pieces for the website. Hopefully, I will meet a few recording artists! To say that I am happy is a complete understatement. I am so ecstatic to start my internship, it is the first step in my communications career.
This upcoming semester is going to be super busy and productive for me. When I am not at my internship I am sure I will be trying to plan events for Delta Epsilon Iota. Why you may ask?….because I am the new chapter president of the national academic honor society. Delta Epsilon Iota is an organization that prides itself in academic excellence. Overall, I will be planning programs and events that revolve around career development.
Along with my leadership position in DEI and the internship, I will be taking four communications classes. The class that I am most anxious about is TV journalism. Inspiring broadcast journalist…that’s me!
In essence, yes, the countdown is on…. five days until my SENIOR YEAR! #Classof2015
